iridude
Curious would a heat gun work with older consoles to reflow and desolder? What solder gun you guys recommend? Reflow/solder station? Thanks

Thanks I just used a cheap $10 soldering iron to reflow the joystick ports on my Gemini
+-^CrossBow^-
Depends on what you are planning to do. A standard solder sucker will work for most projects. But on the +5 RAM I would advise a good de-soldering gun. I have an older Hakko FR-300 myself that I've used for several years now. But if you don't have access, I've heard my local shop has success using their hot air rework station to remove components from the bottom side of the board. Can also just cut the components out with flush cutters, and then use a standard soldering iron to remove the leads from the vias after.
