tschak909
Yup, the Microtec assembler was used early on to build the OS ROMs, and it ran on the PDP-11. As for AMAC, it came from a software firm called Sorcim, who started out by making language products for 8080 and Z80 systems, and eventually branched out into making application programs for CP/M, their most famous product being SuperCalc, which was bundled with many CP/M business systems. SuperCalc lives on as a Computer Associates (CA) acquisition. -Thom
luckybuck
:-)))) Thank you soooo much Thom, did not know about Sorcim, will try to find them for the source code. :-))) Yeah, SuperCalc I herad from, I mean, I have a version for the CP/M emulator running. ? Besides this, there is group in reverse engineering VisiCalc or SynCalc, so we can rebuild the source code here, too. After one coffee my brain starts slowly to work: what about asking Kathleen O'Brien about the DOS I case? I can write her an e-mail?
tschak909
go for it, but I am starting to get a clearer picture of what happened. I really don't think there was an assembler editor that emitted DOS 1 object files. -Thom
