molmagman
I've just acquired a hex-bus printer plotter for my CC40. The rechargeable batteries have leaked so I'm replacing them. The charger is 9V but there are 5 batteries so I'm really not sure what voltage the individual cells are. I have bought some 1.5V Lithium Ion rechargeable cells which would bring the voltage up to 7.5V I assume that NiMH batteries at 1.2V would not be suitable as this would only supply 6V. Any advice please? The last thing I want to do is to damage it!
Jimhearne
They are going to be Nicads, 5 x 1.2V = 6V total. The charging circuit needs some additional voltage over the battery voltage so 9V is about right. You can replace them with NiMh but not Lithium as that will give you 7.5V and the charging circuit will be incorrect for them. Jim
