+TheBF Posted July 6, 2021 Share Posted July 6, 2021 Seeing this reminded me that I had not updated my rough and ready AMS tester. This version is quite a bit better. I uses straight-forward page numbers rather than the virtual segment model I used before. I tests the register memory and now uses that as a test for the presence of the SAMS card before it does anything. It has a reference pattern buffer that is copied into each 4K page of AMS memory. It uses an ASM string comparison operator to compare both 4K buffers so it is pretty fast. SAMSTEST command runs the test once. The REPTEST command runs continuously and increments the pattern BYTE on each iteration. The PAGETEST command takes a start and a finish page# ( 0 8 PAGETEST) to test a set of pages. The only pages that are not tested are where Forth is running. Page 10,11,12,13,14,15 (>A000,>B000,>C000,>D000,>E000,F000) If it is useful and people want some other features let me know. I have a bit of memory left for some extra stuff. The program is called SAMSTESTER Edit: Oops. I did not update the pattern buffer when the pattern character was changed in the REPTEST. Fixed. If you write a 4K block of memory using different patterns and read it back, comparing to what was written, isn't that exercising all the address and data lines? 2.
