Adam advice

Looking for advice on my spare Adam. I tested it out today in anticipation of listing it for sale. Everything still worked fine with the cpu, keyboard, & printer, but not surprisingly had some issues with the tape drive.  I put in a tape and reset.   The tape rewinds fine, but at the end of the rewind it doesn’t load.  If I open the bay door, the spindles are still trying to rewind.  It’s like it doesn’t sense the end of tape.  After reading a bit, I’m guessing it’s related to the rubber roller. Looking at the roller, it doesn’t look like it’s bare but it is not black either.  It’s turned brown but it spins freely.  Any thoughts?

So the timing wheel looks like sand paper? If so, the timing wheel is GONE… it should look like a black car tire on a rom. Milli/8 Bit Milli has great videos on how to repair it or you can send him the drive for repair(s).

Yeah, that’s a good description.  I thought that was likely the issue.
