ElecMan
Hi, my friend recently sold me his copy of Super Mario Bros Special for the x1 and I was curious if it was authentic. He sold it to me kinda cheap and we both don’t know if it’s authentic or not. Is it authentic? There isn’t a lot of info on the web about this game so I thought I would ask here. Here’s a picture. Thanks for any info you can give me. Edited July 28, 2021 by ElecMan
bluejay
It’s one of those obscure HudsonSoft computer ports of Nintendo games. Yes, they were officially licensed by Nintendo and are authentic.
RetroSonicHero
Quite the find! Sharp X1 games and systems can be pretty rare nowadays. Especially with the case. I'd say that's the superior version too (it was also released on the NEC PC 8801), it has nicer colors and the switching from screen to screen is much more natural. (The game isn't a sidescroller, instead it goes from screen to screen). Edited July 31, 2021 by RetroSonicHero
