KLund1
I would like to make some imitation/fictional 800 (not xl/xe) front badge labels. Anyone have these fonts anywhere? I know to letter and numbers are different fonts. I would like a label that shows 840 instead of 800. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks !
tuf
Well you have to tell us what the 840 represents - can't leave us hangin'!
StickJock
It's obvious, right? The 800s have 48K of RAM, so an 840 would have 50.4K of RAM! Or, maybe it has 1/10th of a 16K 400 in it, so that would be 49.6K of RAM. Or, maybe instead of a 1.79MHz clock, it runs at 1.89MHz? ?
KLund1
x00's = computers 810's = drives 820's = printers 830's = modems 850 = interface 840's = monitors? 40=12" 45=14" 47=19" ??
Mr Robot
The font you are looking for is "Harry Fat" The 0's are capital O's though
KLund1
Mr Robot, Many thanks ! Any idea which sub font the badge is? I think the numbers are a different font, and a different color.
Mr Robot
Back in the late 70's we didn't have fonts like we do today, there was a lot of cutting and pasting and manual adjustment using rub down transfers. Harry Fat is the font Atari used but they did modify parts of it, like the R (it has a gap in the Atari Logo, not in the digital font), the 0's were really Upper case O characters. The 4 came from another font. There is a modern font called SF Atarian System which was designed to look like the Atari font but it's not quite right (a casual look won't give it away). The closest 4 I've found is in a font called Horatio D The 8 is wrong, I've not found an accurate one, the top circle is much smaller than the bottom circle. The colour difference is the use of an outline font for the numbers This is harry fat (with horatio D for the 4) It's not bad, but it's not perfect. Here is the real thing And here is someone elses attempt at the logos using SF Atarian System To get any closer you would have to edit the letter forms by hand sf-atarian-system-font.zip Horatio D Bold.ttf

I guess this means you haven't seen the artwork I've been doing on my website https://atari8bit.net/projects/artwork/
KLund1
Yes I have seen your site. I did not make the mental connection, sorry. You helped me with designing some Diagnostics cart labels a year ago. Great to see you on our club SLCC Zoom call a few weeks ago. Hope you can attend again when you have the time. 1
