sn8k
I am at the point where I need a new Atari console....... I have never owned a Jaguar before but If I get one I want it brand new. But I have also been eyeing that VCS 800 with authority.... My question is were these things sealed when new? Glued shut? Was the whole thing sealed in plastic wrap? Clear sticker? I am seeing Jaguars on ebay listed as "New" and at exorbitant prices. But I see the console out of box with their contents in their individual plastic wraps within the carton like thing holding it all together. New to me is I can't open the thing without breaking some kind of seal......is this normal?

If those plastic packages are sealed shut....that changes things.
Rick Dangerous
Here is an easy solution: don't buy a new one. Especially if you plan to play and enjoy it. Just get a used one, or a broken one on the cheap and fix it.

Not paying crazy prices for used. And im also not one to tinker and figure shit out. I buy all my consoles new and I baby them.
Rick Dangerous
The "new Jaguar" ship has sailed. I doubt any of them being sold as so really are. But if it makes you feel better to spend an extra $300 to think you got one have at it. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go bid on some new old stock Sega Saturns, Turbo Duo's, and Neo Geo AES's. Loads of them unopened out there. 1

They did come with the Jaguar hologram, small round stickers on the flap on mine, that wasn't even centered, you'll see the eb warranty sticker, and price attached to box. Was not sealed, in 94? when I purchased it
sn8k
Then Ebay has no New Jaguars. Because it's all open.
+cubanismo
Best electronics still had them new last time I checked. You're taking their word for it I guess, but I trust Best. Just make sure you read the rules before ordering. https://www.best-electronics-ca.com/jaguar.htm
Leeroy ST
Well yes, if not sealed in cages they could bite people. You can let it out if you want, but once you receive the hospital bill I'll bet you will regret not doing the math beforehand. 1
