Asteroids: Recharged (in VCS Store)

Same here failed to load error message for the leaderboards but hopefully this gets resolved soon!. I’m really enjoying the game so far brilliant release as usual from the recharged series I’m looking forward to sitting down and spending more time with the game later.

The Leaderboards are more coming soon than ever before! Will be nice if a switch gets flipped and it does indeed start working, though.

 

Agreed: Recharged series has been uniformly great, this is too.

I spent some break time from work playing Asteroids earlier today.  It's really well done, I think. 

 

Black Widow and Asteroids probably are my faves, followed by Centipede and Missile Command.

I like Ding Dong XL from the same developer and no I did not make up that name. It's on PC, Switch, etc, not sure if it's on the VCS store but it should be, it's very simple to play, and anything can run it. Should cost a dollar if/when it comes out.

Played some Asteroids last night and today.  I've completed the first 31 Challenges.  Asteroids is hands down my favorite of the Recharged games.

I heard from a source that there is a pending system update, and once that happens (should be today) the scoreboards will work.
Frustrating that it's overdue, but better late than with bugs which would cause us all problems.

Question regarding these "recharged" games - do they let you map your own controls, specifically to mouse/keyboard?  

 

I was thinking it would be a lot of fun to play them on my MAME cabinet using arcade controls because I simply cannot enjoy classic arcade type games with a d-pad.  In fact, I'd rather play tennis with a baseball bat than arcade games with a d-pad.  If it's possible to map controls to a keyboard then I should be able to set it up on my cabinet.

No unfortunately, and it is one of the bigger asks that hopefully they do in the future for long-term support of the game.

For the MAME cabinet, I presume you're talking about a Steam version of the game, not the VCS one, so maybe you can map something.

Just picked this up and LOVE it. My favorite Recharged game so far. Probably not too surprising since I love the arcade game so much. And it has made me feel like an arcade hero compared to the humbling beat down that Black Widow gave me.

I like the Arcade Mode a lot. I'm already at level 40 in Challenges Mode. So far, I've been able to clear them all relatively quickly, and most in 1 or 2 tries. Level 40 is the first really difficult challenge.

 

This is a bit of a disappointment as Black Widow and Centipede both had a number of difficult challenges. Black Widow took 6 weeks for me to clear!

I cleared the 40th VCS Challenge today. It was easily the most difficult in the game and one of the most challenging in the series.

Thanks! LA Traffic is aptly named. Almost as aggravating and scary as the real thing!
