+davidcalgary29
Is anyone planning to take advantage of Telegames Back-To-School special? Perhaps Telegames could be convinced that they should release one of their completed titles if they're confronted with an AA "buyathon". DracIsBack
They've gotta drop their ludicrous shipping, handling and "order processing fees" before I'll buy anything from them. $12.50 US to ship a single game into Canada (airmail cost: maybe $3.00) - no way. +davidcalgary29
They really do need to clarify their shipping policies on their website. The representative I chatted with a few months ago indicated that s/h fees were $8 (USD) for the first cart, and $2 for each additional cart. This is still outrageous, but does (perhaps) make a little more sense.
BrandonJ33
I just browsed their site and couldn't find anything. Do I have to join the mailing list to get info about the special? And could you explain what the special is please?
+davidcalgary29
Yes, you have to join their mailing list in order to find out about their special offers. They're currently offering a 15% discount on most titles thru to the 9th, but their shipping costs -- especially to those living outside the US -- are prohibitive. This discount will, in effect, not even cover the cost of s/h fees for international buyers!
BrandonJ33
Excellent. Thanks for the information and the speed of your reply "Telegames: Shippin costs bigger'n Texas!"

DracIsBack
Yeah - I've been itching to order Jaguar Worms for a long time. But, I'm sure as hell not plunking down $69.95 U.S., plus $8.00 shipping, plus $4.50 for an "order processing fee" to ship the one single bleeping game an hour and five minutes north of the New York state border. If the price was $69.95+$5.00, I'd go for it. [/b]

DracIsBack
I actually have a number of times. The response is always the same: " Thank you for your feedback. Those fees are the result of longstanding practices. "
Tempest
Thank you for your feedback. Those fees are the result of longstanding practices. What the hell does that mean? We've been ripping people on shipping for years so it's ok? Yeesh! Tempest
DracIsBack
Yeah - that's exactly what it means. You know, I could probably live with the "shipping" fees, if they dropped that acursed "order processing fee". What a pile of (*^$ that is! SteveW
Telegames is based in Lancaster, TX, which is about 20 minutes away from me. Does anyone know if they have an actual store location? Could I just walk in and say "I want the Atari Jaguar version of Worms" and pick it up without having to pay a ridiculous price for shipping and handling (not to mention whatever the 'processing fee' might be)? Telegames UK had a few stores some years back. In Leicester, Dumfries and Peterborough. Don't know if they have any stores left today. SteveW
I used to work in DeSoto. I'd like to see their warehouse. Wall to wall classic games. Sah-weet.
MsPacBitch
I must admit... I HATE TELEGAMES. I ordered a Telegames 2-in-1 Colecovision set a while back via the phone, not knowing that the website had a special where they would give you a River Raid cart for free. No one mentioned that on the phone. I called back within 30 MINUTES and they wouldn't give it too me! I've also inquired about getting a discount if I ordered a large order of games (over $500) and all I get is a curt response "we do not offer discounts." I understand (kind of) if you don't want to reward a potential good customer, but do you have to be so rude about it? I met some Telegames reps at Classic Gaming Expo last year. Bunch of jerks.
