Fragmare
The next version of Furnace tracker will support the Lynx/MIKEY! Here is a tune I covered from Road Rash on the Lynx. Enjoy!

aminor00
Very nice! Atari 1040 STFM with Blitter, 20MB HDD and SM125 monitor, 2* Atari Jaguar, 7* Atari Lynx (inc 1 with McWill mod) ... And as many games as I can get away with!
miker
Added lnx/lyx files to try on real Lynx (no proper emulator support for 60Hz modules yet). rr.zip
Leonard Smith
I'm getting a TG-16 / PC Engine vibe. Same kind of sound, which is surprising since there really isn't anything else out there that sounds like the PCE.
laoo
It might be a conversion from PC-Engine, but on Lynx sounds imho much better! Edited March 12, 2022 by laoo

Yea, speaking of that... what exactly is the native refresh rate of the Lynx? I highly doubt it's PAL or NTSC standard.
miker
I think that using 60Hz is fine. Just the player extensively uses counters, which is rather unexpected by emulator (at least for now). <snip - laoo is writing the answer> Edited March 12, 2022 by miker update
laoo
There is no native refresh, as it's customizable from 37 Hz up to 78 Hz. But the standard refresh is about 59.9 Hz. What Miker was saying is that the attached player being vgm-like heavily utilizes Lynx timers in a way that none emulator supports yet. So, it's customizable by the programmer. That makes sense. VGM can be very timer-heavy, i hear.

+karri
I just downloaded and tried to get a feeling for Furnace Tracker. The songs can be imported nicely and they sound great. But how do you export the tune? Is there a player available?
miker
@karri check your PM, please
+karri
Thanks! I must admit that the Furnace Tracker is a completely different beast. Nothing like the stuff I have used so far (ABCmusic, Chipper, Handy Music).
+Stephen
Tune sounds great. Would be awesome to have this game on the Lynx.

LordKraken
I'll try to release one of my 5 "in-dev" games first
laoo
Driver playing the tune does not exists yet. The cartridge image that plays it has built-in VGM-ish player. Real driver will be rather demanding. I'll try to write it hopefully soon, but it needs some research how Furnace exactly executes the song and instrument data to produce the Mikey register writes.
+karri
I hope that the memory (player + music) is close to Handy Music requirement. For Wizzy the tunes do not have to be long. But it would be lovely to have quality sounds.
