Tempest
I've slowly been going through a collection of prototypes that Frank Cifaldi sent me and discovered something interesting. Apparently Atari and Lucasfilm held a joint press conference on May 8th, 1984 and gave out Atari 5200 cartridges as a press pass. I don't think I've ever seen this documented anywhere so I thought I'd share it. I don't believe there's any board inside the cartridge, it's just an empty shell.
0078265317
Open it up and lets see. Or push the tabs with a screw driver and see if there is a board inside.
Tempest
I don't actually own it, I was just sent the picture.

That was less than two weeks before the 5200 was discontinued. Now we know why. They ran out of cart shells for some reason... ?

HammR25
I doubt they would have killed the 5200 if this even had been on Friday May 4th instead.

Probably a few dozen online being auctioned somewhere, complete with fuzzy and non-distinct images of the label and lots of proclamations of "It's an original, pinky-swear!" Except it's not the pinky being waved in your face... ? A shame, since LucasFilm Games was one of, if not the best trendsetters of the day with gameplay originality and hardware-pushing. Fractal-generated landscapes in real time, antialiasing, etc... a shame the 8-bit stereo sound chip never got released for the 65 XEM...
