gilsaluki
Just wondering the original of the event's name, Atariada. How, where do people come up with these names always interests me. And we have had some odd, strange names for hardware upgrades. Insider stuff, I suppose. DBM.
R0ger
It's common way to create word for event focused on something in Czech language. Including infamous https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spartakiad_(Czechoslovakia). But I don't think it was the first use. It might have strong influence on the frequency of use of the suffix though. Edit: oh and it's also part of the Czech word for Olympic games: olympiáda. Which will most likely have even bigger impact. manterola
Funny thing I heard from Czech "Atarianos": sometimes Spanish speakers atarianos get interested in the atariada thinking that it is a spanish language event: an olimpiada of Atari games.
Wrathchild
@R0ger With FLOP 66 being release last November, is it now out of sync with being released at Atariada?
archeocomp
Manterola: that is it. We in Czechoslovakia seem to use Spanish term Olimpiada (our version beeing Olympiada) for Olympic games and so Atariada name was born
