PITFALL! MSX

A hack that tries to simulate the MSX version of Pitfall.
What I like most about the MSX version, besides its beautiful colors chosen, is the money bag that has an animation too, different from the static version of the 2600. For this to happen on the 2600 it was necessary to change places with the existing sprites, the Money bag takes the place of the gold bars and the gold bars take yours. On the other hand, there are two types of money bags in which the number symbol flashes, we have money bags in the MSX green color as well as in the purple color, which is not available in the MSX version.
The ring in the MSX version also has a very cool animation, unfortunately it is not possible to simulate it in the same rom. In the future I may release a version with the animated ring.
Regarding Harry, there were some modifications to make it resemble his MSX version, as a character has visible hands on MSX, so that it was possible to emulate white hands on the 2600 it was necessary to sacrifice some of the color of his shirt, he now seems to be using a kind of utility belt, especially when in the underground passages.

The snake gained a little more animation.

Testing a new kind of sound. Purple money bags replaced with the original gray color. A lighter green tone for the other money bags

PITFALL! MSX - BACK TO ORIGINS (NTSC)

 

Back to origins. The money bag is static like the original. Gold bars are animated again. The ring is now turquoise blue.
The concrete and brick wall tries to emulate a 3D. The scorpion as in the MSX version has a constantly moving upper eye. Object colors more faithful to the MSX version.

FINAL VERSION

 

All adjustments done. Change in concrete and brick wall and minor alterations
 for the original measurements of the gold bars and the ring.

 

Available for anyone interested, a compact file containing 7 variations of unused brick walls as the final version.
