Are XONOX games really that bad?

They do look like type-in games. I never really liked any of them, Sir Lancelot was kind of like joust but not nearly as fun and quite clunky. Robin Hood looked pretty interesting but wasn’t. Never got a chance to play the other games but heard 'meh' things about those too.

Considering how much one can make by selling them, especially CIB and for those that bought them circa 1985 from the Bargain Bins for $5… they are a lot of fun and help subsidize one’s retro collecting.

All kidding aside, I like Artillery Duel, Sir Lancelot is a poor man’s Joust and Motocross Racer is decent. Some like It’s Only RnR, but the rest I consider a hot mess.

Holy cow!  I didn't know Xonox made Coleco double enders.  Which games did they put on the Coleco versions?

Artillery Duel / Chuck Norris

MotoCross Race / Tomarc the Barbarian

Robin Hodd / Sir Lancelot

The first is easier to find the other two are harder to find in my hunting 20 years ago...

CIB = $$$

Ghost Manor is one of my personal favorites by Xonox. Unfortunately, for some reason, they never opted to do a Colecovision port.

I watched a youtube video of this game.

None of it makes any sense.

When an Atari 2600 game needs an instruction book there are problems.

When it needs a comic book ala sword quest then there are issues.

When you don't know what the hell you are doing without a guru then the world will end as we know it.

This is coming from someone who played Superman and Worm War for hours on end.

I'm not sure I understand your issues with instruction manuals. I do agree with your Swordquest point but that entire games series has issues within itself.

I don't think Ghost Manor wasn't really that convoluted... especially if you figured out the gameplay of Superman sans instructions.
