+Mitch
I just noticed that the Ballblazer with the red end label listed in the 7800 section is listed as a PAL cart. Did someone actually find a PAL version of this? I thought it was an NTSC only variation. I know the NTSC red end label version is a little uncommon compared to the standard (O'shea) version but I've seen a fair amount of them. This is the first I've heard of a PAL release. Can anyone confirm this? Mitch http://atari7800.atari.org
Alex
I think that may just be a mistake. I know at least two people sent this to us, and both are US collectors. I'll check with Al and see if he had a reason for listing it that way, or more likely, I probably screwed up and told him to list it that way in an email. Thanks again Mitch, for the scans and for keeping us on our 7800 toes. Hmmm, actually it looks like one of them was sent in by a UK collector and he says it's PAL. We'll double check with him. Eckhard Stolberg
My PAL version of Ballblazer for the 7800 has a red end label too. FWIW, I traded it from a guy in Australia. Ciao, Eckhard Stolberg
+Mitch
Hmm, so I guess it came out with a red end label for both NTSC and PAL. Interesting. While we are on the topic of PAL games. Does anybody know why Atari released a PAL 7800 Asteroids on cartridge, since it comes built into the system? This has always bugged me. BTW, the 7800 Commando box scan seems to have a problem. jochta
Hi! I did the scan of the red end label Ballblazer and I can confirm categorically that it is a PAL version. It plays on my PAL 7800, was sourced in the UK and has a nice P sticker on the back!! John

A cartridge Asteroids in PAL format has yet to be found. The rumored PAL Asteroids turned out to be NTSC. Mitch
