starraider
What kind of diskdrive is that? The plug looks like a standard atari serial plug, but I have never seen a diskdrive like that for the atari 8-bit. http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...4&category=8093

miker
Hmm... it may be SN-360 drive - a kind of Polish answer to Atari XF-551 (double sided - capable of writing 360k to a disk). Look at diz: http://www.serious-dial.atari.pl/Serious/S...razki/SN360.jpg Sorry i haven't found bigger picture of it yet... It was incompatible with XF551 (in 360k format) and has much errors in ROM...

Sikor
Hi There!!! Yes, it is Polish disk drive, but - for my eyes - this time is not SN-360. It have 360Kb, like XF, but - this time - I do not remember firm product this.
mikey
Answer? It was incompatible with XF551 (in 360k format) and has much errors in ROM... Not really, there were two versions. One was revised after numerous customer reports about ROM bugs. I was happy to purchase the second edition (from what I can gather - the fix included reprogrammed ROM and a few passive electronics inside on the controller) If it was manufactured after 1994 - I'll bet it's the bug-free revision HTH EDIT: it was designed by Slawomir Nienaltowski (hence SN) and manufactured and distributed by Atari Studio from Warsaw. I have an EPROM dump of the 'revised' model if anyone is interested. Some rumours have it that the drive is incompatible with PERCOM standard for querying and setting drive parameters - but that's not true.
