neo_rg
you didn't hear me right, i already have soulstar, a version that no-one else has, i.e. no graphical corruption. i could easily ask a few other ppl who own a copy for the data that i need but i don't have the inclination to, i'll save calling in favours for when i need something else. there is nothing stopping you getting a copy for yourself, mine is not for the collection it's for the project in the long run. so there might be dozens of people with a pirated copy that he is selling, but me and others are working for a legal release. but they (core) won't allow a release unless there is a fully working version. if we manage to get the rights to release it then we as a group can sue him as (we) not (he) has distribution rights. which would be easy to prove, all we need is his ebay records for selling them. so if he sold 40 copies at $50 a go.... do the maths. Creekree
ah yes, now i see.... didnt mean to insult you. it is good that you are putting some effort in making a final version that might get approved by core. who is "we as a group"? creekree

If I had one of these "corrupted" copies, i'd still want the complete, fully working version if it was released. Not only to have the full game as meant to be, but also for the case/label/instructions, etc.
neo_rg
gunstar, you have a very valid point there. most ppl want a quick fix solution but in the long run a quality professional release is always the thing that they want.
Punisher5.0
I just got Soul Star today and man does this game kick ass! Very cool stuff. I hope someday you can release SS neo_rg because the second level of the one I got is FUBR.

I hope someday you can release SS neo_rg because the second level of the one I got is FUBR. I think that that may have been a problem that crept in during the copy process. I got my copy of SS from the same seller last Xmas, and it plays well. I've noted one graphic glitch during one of the first stages of the first level, and some problems at the space station, but that's about it. +davidcalgary29
But yes, I'd love to be able to purchase a commercial version (and hopefully glitch-free) of this game.
Creekree
me too.... if only i had a jag cd.... i´d buy it even if i dont have a cd unit, just to support the idea behind getting games for the jag out. ..beebeep...............need cd unit...........beebeep...................need cd unit.....beep......beep.............. creekree
Mendon
I just purchased one from the guy. Sort of hated to do so as I'd really rather buy a legit copy and buy from someone (like Lar's, Cobra, Jaysmith, etc) who is actively supporting the Jag scene rather than someone who appears to be just burning copies to make some $$$$. But this might be my only chance to even play or see the game so I guess I have to open my wallet put blinders on my ethic's. Mendon

Mendon I hear you Mendon, we have all tried to contact Core and they never reply. Jason also contacted Core and ebay about this guy with no responce. I would love to release this thing but am very afraid of being sued by Core. Maybe if everyone here bombed Cores website with request for me to do this, they might listen. At least it would put that guy out of buisness and we could all feel better about this whole thing. Robert

atari_jag_lives
hi, i joined so i could respond to the attack on me that i found on this web site forum. i am the guy who has been selling soul star on ebay for the last couple of months. if anyone would have bothered to get in touch with me, you would have found out that i was one of the last die hard jag supporters. unlike this forum, my specialty is sales and not technical stuff. i am a big jag fan for the record, i sold the jag in 95, 96. and 97. i was the guy on the front line selling the system and games to the public. even after the jag was dropped by atari i keep putting out a jag game catalog. it was the last one that anyone made to my knowledge, it was black and white and around 16 pages long. i find it very strange that not one person who thought i was such a bad guy ever even wrote me or asked me a question. there was just alot of assuming that i was trying to get rich from this... wrong ! no one is ever going to get rich off of jaguar. i bought soul star from LARS for the reasonable price of $300. i guess that is what your group thinks is a fair deal and not the rip off price of $29 to $49 that i sold it for. and yes, LARS sold it on ebay for the higher price. but, that is alright because he is part of your group so anything you guys do is right and everyone else is wrong. then another guy in your group sold me four more unreleased games for the reasonable price of $1,200, but, the disc never worked ! he sent me off to several other people in your group but it never happened. not one cent refunded. but, that to is ok i guess ?! did i buy soul star to sell it, no. i am a jag collector. never even occurred to me that i could sell a game, one day i was on ebay and b&c was selling air cars, varunas forces, etc and i thought wow, that is cool. how are they doing that ? so i went searching and found the press release from hasbro saying it had given up all rights to the jag. so finally after losing $1,500 to your group, i had a chance to recoupe some of my losses. to this day, i have not even come close to recovering the $1,500 given. since reading all of these posting, i have decided that this game might not be covered under the hasbro thing so i went and cancelled my auction and will not be selling this game any longer, i really am not looking for trouble. so you guys can go back to ripping off people for the higher $300 again. i guess in the long run, that is better for jag fans and the future of the jaguar. by the way, everyone seemed very happy with the game and not one person complained to me and i have all positive feedback on jag sales. so i must have done something right ??? sincerely atari_jag_lives
Dragonforce-Europe
let me ask you one thing. Do you own the rights to soulstar? has the developers of soulstar given you the right to sell teh game? and do you got proof?
atari_jag_lives
i am not sure that i don't have permission, the game was licensed to atari and hasbro bought atari and released all rights. i am not an attorney nor do i want to get further involved at this point. so i have stopped selling the game based on the statements made on this forum. but, i noticed that alot of the people who are complaining on this forum are distributing the game or other games. no one has contacted me and asked me to stop anything. i have had no complaints from anyone. but, based on this forum, i am not going to continue offering this game. Nukey Shay
So the hoarders get what they want. * glad he's not into the Jag scene Look, we are not ALL like that. I for one have no problem with people selling off repos. * eyes turn to a number of people around here ...Including those that were NEVER a finished sellable product to begin with on a system that has since been thrown into public domain. Keep doin' what you doin'...if it means that more people can enjoy the game, that is ALL that matters. If people want to call it unfair, they can do exactly what you are (and they do). * flips off anyone who disagrees before the thread is locked
Dragonforce-Europe
i dont give alot about atariage anymore. basicly it is because there are people in here that do dislike others. i just go for the truth. i am not aware of people distributing other games. but i heard alot about soul star.
