And then "Pitfall II" (1983) took the crown. I never noticed any better graphics in Pitfall II compared to the original Pitfall. Apart from that it added a sky above the trees. It looks fabulous for a 2600 game, maintains much of the soundtrack of the arcade game, and I really enjoy playing it. I remember being amazed that it could be done that well on the 2600 when I first played it, and was shocked to read that most people think it's rubbish.
