+Mitch
OK, so I picked up a couple of drives at a flea market a couple of weeks ago. A 1050 and an Indus GT, the 1050 works fine but the GT will only display an error code of 8L (or maybe BL). I checked the manual and it doesn't mention that error code at all. I assume you need the service manual to decode what the problem is but I don't have one. Does anyone out there know what the problem is? miker
Maybe the counter is bad or something's wrong with the electronics... Or it may be some soft of "unsupported error-code"

dinosaur
Hey Steve, Could you post it here? I would like to have it. Thanks
classics
Looks like the CD I had the manual scanned onto is lost, sorry about that. The only thing I could find is an old e-mail with some information on how to start the extended field tests. Steve -- The indus has built in diagnostics and they run every time the drive is turned on. If an error is encounted, a number and letter appear on the led display. C1/H1 Quick ram check. The C is displayed while the tests are running. the H is displayed if a test failes. The C usally flashes and counts to 3 real fast. C2/H2 Z80A index registers test C3/H3 Floppy disk controller test. After that, the led display should display 00 for a bit then step out to 39. If nothing of the sort comes up, then there is some problem with the Z80, ROM , power supply chips or some logic curcite. There is also a level 2 diagnostics. You will need a shorting serial plug/cable with the following ; pins 1, 2 and 7 shorted Pins 3,5 and 10 shorted Fit the plug and do the following; turn on drive while holding down the TRACK, ERROR and DRIVETYPE buttons on the front panel. C4/H4 serial bus interface bus test. C5/H5 Interrupt circuitry test C6/H6 Extented ram test. This takes a while to complete If all is well, A E- is displayed.
