DracIsBack
Rastan Saga - Why hasn't anyone brought up this Taito classic? That would be killer! A TIA definitely wouldn't cut it though. Rastan had such cool music!
SlidellMan
@DracIsBack: Agreed. Hell, the Sega Master System version of Rastan Saga had FM chip support, which made it sound nicer than the PSG version. By the way, what do you guys think of my other choices? ZippyRedPlumber
Made this out of bordom one day while watching Battle of the Ports Do you think Smash TV would make for a great 7800 port? DrSidneyZweibel
Still holding out hope for Bob's Defender port. I'd love to see some later era Atari coin ops like Crystal Castles, APB, and I, Robot.
8th lutz
Rastan Saga - Why hasn't anyone brought up this Taito classic? I actually did in a different 7800 thread in 2012. Here it is: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/204268-7800-games-that-should-have-existed/?hl=%2Brastan&do=findComment&comment=2621717
Jinks
Not arcade but homebrew... imagine a 320 mode dual pokey version of the 8 bit computer game yoomp!?? That would be unreal!
+DrVenkman
This thread was started 12-1/2 years ago. Wow. Anyway, I'll add a vote for Gyruss, but only if POKEY sound is added - the 2600 TIA sound is pretty good for what it is, but it sacrifices all sound effects for the music. Something like Commando where POKEY is used for music and TIA is used for percussive sounds would be great. Maybe if/when HOKEY ever happen, or some Atari-fanatic/millionaire ponies up to get Chinese POKEY clones made ...
Place Logo Here
Really don't believe the 7800 could manage it, best to stick with the awesome Lynx version. Hmmm...there was a hideous port for C64. This would have to be an improvement over that. I would love to see a 7800 attempt at this game. rivercityrandom
It's such a pity Jack Tramiel split off Atari Games from Atari Corporation; otherwise Tengen might have been talked into making good 7800 ports of Atari arcade games instead of spending so much time trying to reverse-engineer Nintendo's lock-out chip.

+davidcalgary29
Arabian, but without the stupid arcade music. Wait -- what am I thinking?? I just want someone to find a finished port of Rampart.
Lynxpro
Not arcade but homebrew... imagine a 320 mode dual pokey version of the 8 bit computer game yoomp!?? That would be unreal! I'd settle on it getting ported to the 5200 and adding native Trak-Ball Controller/spinner support. Although I haven't modded my 5200, I suspect the A8 Dual POKEY mods would also work with it. Lynxpro
Made this out of bordom one day while watching Battle of the Ports Do you think Smash TV would make for a great 7800 port? Edit: Image attachment didnt work, can anyone help? Yes. The 7800's MARIA chip is a sprite monster; it should be able to handle that game. Better get a heat sink added to it though. The only problem - aside from TIA audio - would be the 7800's lack of 4 joystick ports or a Team Tap Adapter so you couldn't do Dual Joysticks for both players in 2-player mode. Apparently, you can do dual game pads - but possibly not dual Advantage joysticks - for 2-player mode on the NES version if you have the 4-Score Adapter. Other users here with more knowledge about the 7800 Expansion Slot have stated it doesn't have enough bandwidth to accommodate extra controllers like, say, the Atari ST and Amiga trick of adding extra DB9 joystick ports via a cable adapter to the Parallel Printer Port Edited August 24, 2017 by Lynxpro
Allpaul
Crazy Climber would be amazing. Someone made a homebrew for the Astrocade:
SlidellMan
Oh, I just realized that it is spelled Raimais, and the original Japanese version had cutscenes, multiple endings, and voices: I definitely think that this would be a great addition on the 7800, despite having to take notable sacrifices. FroggoGamer
I would eventually love to see a 7800 version of Mr. Do (one of my personal favorites), Black Widow (would make great use of my Edladdin Super 78), and Legendary Wings (because the NES version isn't much like the arcade, with POKEY support of course).
