tomyou
He is bidding in small amounts to try and see what the high bid is. Most people do this to get close enough to figure it out and Know what to snipe at the end. Logical or not that is the main reason you see that alot. Horax
Yep, if you think about it i must agree with Marco! I don´t have a problem with the fact that someone is actually willing to pay over 800 $ for just one 2600- Game! Everyone should pay as much for his Hobby as he wants. I didn´t actually mean that the Guy who is bidding that much for Lochjaw is Insane, no really not!!! I was just stunned because i never saw 2600-games going so high!!!! I just couldn´t get this into my Head... I haven´t seen many US-Auctions before, i guess here in Germany Games wouldn´t go that high!!!!! Anyway, i didn´t want to offend anyone!! I hope the winner of this Auction will be happy with his Boxed Lochjaw!
Marco(2)
Check out this auction: German Atari 2600 Auction There is only one really rare game in this lot (Steeplechase by Video Gems), and yet it has gone quite high already. It happens everywhere Cheers, Marco

Rick Weis
hello everyone, first of all.. Marco, thanks for all the very kind words!! i don't think there is a word in the english language that can say what your friendship has meant to me in the 4 years i have known you!! and i agree with Sandy that IS BEAUTIFUL!!! very well said Marco!!! yes i do consider myself in the must-check-mental-sanity league (where do you come up with these names... Marco) am i sane? HELL NO!!! anybody who collects to this degree is a little "off your rocker" (have that game BTW) so if you NEED to LABEL it YES it is insane!!! but then again driving around for many hours finding hardly nothing day after day how sane is that? (not that i'm saying that is insane) but i'm at the point where the games that i NEED, the chances are i will NEVER find them at goodwill or VV or any other place like a swap meet! is it worth 800.00 NO!! 600.00 NO!! 300.00 NOOOOOO!!! it's NOT what it's worth!!! it's what it MEANS to that collector!! now should i pass on this one and wait for anther one (i will) even thou i know the chances are very small of another one (BOXED) popping up! then again maybe with the high price this one went for maybe that will change the mind of some other collector out there that has a boxed one??? if there are any others boxed out there, that is!! i have been collecting since 77 and this is only the 2nd one boxed i have ever seen (Marco's was the first one) and that not counting pictures in mags or on (websites wantlists) i don't think the high bidder on this one will pass on it. he has good feedback, and has bid very high on other VUR atari stuff.... we will see..... if he does pass on it, i hope the seller contacts me!! Take Care, and good luck with all you collecting!!! Rick

(i thinkhe thought i had a small bid over his!!) Take Care, Rick PS: the auction does look wrong!! i didn't win!
Fretwobbler
@Lemmi - In chronological order - Buyatari had a bid 0f $600.00 Then 7425e with $620 The next bid to be placed was Rick with a bid of $825.00 Then 7425e made 4 bids of amounts between $640 and $800 to creep-up to Ricks bid, It then looks like he thought Ricks bid was huge and made a bid of $950 that put him in 1st place. Buyatari then sniped it at the last minute with the winning bid of $960.00. buyatari (206) $960.00 7425e (11) $950.00 rick63 (337) $825.00 7425e (11) $800.00 7425e (11) $710.00 7425e (11) $680.00 7425e (11) $650.00 7425e (11) $620.00 buyatari (206) $600.00 824 (199) $510.00 rick63 (337) $495.00 824 (199) $410.00 824 (199) $310.00 824 (199) $275.00 frodis (222) $245.00 frodis (222) $205.00 frodis (222) $190.00 frodis (222) $150.00 frodis (222) $100.00 824 (199) $22.00 dustcrow (36) $16.99 824 (199) $12.00 Adam [ 02-13-2002: Message edited by: Fretwobbler ]

MoonlightKnight
Hey Lemmi! Here's another example of "trying to find the top price." MattG/Snyper2099
Just wanted to say I've been busy with school lately and missed most of this post. (Jst read through it tonight) and it was a bear! Wanted to say congrats to Adam and kudos to Marco. Both of them really are great people... even if they are insane Who isn't insane? Can you imagine some of the things "normal" people think of us "Atari collectors"? Hell, I think my fiance' partially left me cause I collect so much "junk" as she calls it. BTW, if I had the money and boxed games were my thing, I'd prolly spend that much too.

See on e-Bay, they don't should you what the final bidders MAX bid is All of the bids before the final are all MAX bids and the final is just, well the final. Buyatari could have bid $5000 for all we know, but the final bid was only $960. A snipe it was but he probably bid pretty high to insure his winnings.
