telnet BBS

I've been thinking about putting a hardware 8-bit BBS back online via telnet.

If I route through an APE cable, does anyone know whether this could result in dropped bytes because of the high speed? This is a problem with the 850 interface and I don't know what kind of datarate to expect through an APE cable. Does it implement any sort of hardware flow control?

Also, I am thinking about hooking up a compact flash card to the 8-bit for storage instead of doing disk I/O through the APE cable also, that way it will minimize any pausing when loading modules. I could do this via the MYIDE cart, a compact flash card, and an IDE->Compact Flash adapter, or add an IDE->SCSI adapter and try using my Black Box. Anyone have any anecdotes trying to interface flash storage with the Black Box?

Hey congrats on setting up a Atari Telnet BBS. I would have to say to get the best advice, check with the Boot Factory, ask there...

Or check the other BBS's that you can find on the Boot Factory logoff screen.

Look forward to seeing you there!
