Room 34
Good luck! I hate to be too much of a downer regarding the classics, but I find that the more complicated games for the 2600 (and other early systems/computers) -- I'm talking things like Raiders of the Lost Ark, Riddle of the Sphinx, and others where you basically need to keep notes, draw maps, etc. OUTSIDE of the game itself -- are practically impossible for me to get into nowadays. I'm just too spoiled by the built-in maps (not to mention all of the other features that just generally make things less inscrutible) in modern games. For me, the 2600 games that hold up best are the simplest... the "twitch" games. I will NEVER get tired of games like Kaboom!, Yars' Revenge, etc.
Lord Thag
I like both. I still love tooling around in Raiders or Riddle of the Sphinx. atwong's Haunted Adventure series gets a lot of play too. That said, the strength of the 2600 is definately in twitch games. Imagic gets the most play here. Moonsweeper and Cosmic ark are great, and so are Subterranea and Demon attack. Good stuff any year
Room 34
I think the problem for me is that I didn't own either of those games as a kid, so I have neither the familiarity with nor the nostalgic attachment to them.

Raiders is one of the greatest Atari 2600 games ever made, I was about 9 years old when I beat it, but not with out the help of my friends.
