RickHarrisMaine
I'm sure I've seen something about this before here, but I just picked up a Raiders of the Lost Ark cart, with the end label is all capitalized, and the letters are orange. Is that an oddity?

Is that an oddity? Yes it is! One of the Atari Corps mess-ups. I picked this one up because I kinda like it. It's not to valuable, but a decent label to collect. Nice little score Rick.
Room 34
Rick, does yours say "Raiders Lost Ark" or is it another lesser-known variation?
crunchysuperman
I don't think that's the one he's talking about. There's a 1982 Atari, Inc variation with orange all caps on the end label (but spelled correctly). There's a scan of it over at Atariguide. And actually, there are two variations with the "RAIDERS LOST ARK" end label.
Omegamatrix
Hey that's pretty cool! I had no idea this version existed. Rick if you have this one it's a much better score. RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK*

RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK* That's the one! I saw that and I thought it was odd. I got that in a lot with a Video Arcade II, a telegames center with a nice cover on it, Pitfall II, some other goodies including Spy Hunter with the manual and the coupler for 9.99! Christophero Sly
This font used on this variation is the Sears picture label font. I wonder if a Tele-games version of this game was planned.

And actually, there are two variations with the "RAIDERS LOST ARK" end label. I am not sure if I have one of the variants or if someone scanned the label trying to pull a fast one. It is the misspelling with a different front picture label. Does any one have scans of the second variation? Mine is different then the scan in the rarity section on this site. I have attached pics. I am not seeing my combination of labels anywhere which is leading me to believe it is a fake.

The owner is probably the most prolific collector of Indiana Jones merchandise and memorabilia. I did ask him a few questions on said piece. He mentioned that he acquired from a individual who resided in the U.K. He also stated the fellow worked at a gaming store in the '80s. I guess it's a cardboard shelf talker with Indy and the ark attached to create a quasi 3d effect. So at least we know the origin is from the U.K. Edited April 23, 2022 by schuwalker
carrot_dave
Hi, I have a sealed 1982 silver copy of this game. Does anyone know if there is a way to tell if the cart inside is the “RAIDERS LOST ARK” variant? Thanks, Chris
roadrunner
I think it should be a 1986 box
