  1. Phew, that's a really drilling thrilling soundtrack. 😵‍💫
  2. First score from first game: 7,590 (Vectrex console with digital controller from Victor Marland)
  3. Just to make sure: My above "Like" refers to this: And not to this: 😉 Really great that you can continue Vectrex playing!
  4. 😆 Very true - consider this as an extra challenge.
  5. Cool. Good luck finishing that deal. Phew, that's a pretty high score, already. Well done, Brett! . o O (Who can stop this guy winning every monthly round?)
  6. That's the good thing about the Vectrex HSC and the Vector War: You play games that you've never given much attention to. Shouldn't be much of a problem to beat dad and mum, but Norman and Hugh have decent scores. 😉
  7. Round 4 - May 2024 - Cosmic Chasm Status: This is the current round being played in the Vectrex High Score Club. Join in and submit your scores! Current scores & ranking: 1st playvectrex 90,320 2nd VF2048/Vorkosigan 39,875 3rd cheeko 39,150 4th Lord Innit 14,415 5th TheCurlyBard 9,215 6th hcmffm 7,590 7th jgkspsx 7,115 Welcome! Typically, arcade games are ported to home systems. With Cosmic Chasm on the Vectrex it was the other way round: First, GCE had developed the game for the Vectrex and Cinematronics turned it into an arcade game. Make sure to control your ship, shields and shots properly to make your way through chambers to the reactor and back. Availability Cosmic Chasm is an official GCE / MB release. The binary of Cosmic Chasm is freely available to download from many places. Original cartridges of Cosmic Chasm are available and it's also included in all multicarts. Sure enough Cosmic Chasm is available on Dr Snuggles emulator too: https://drsnuggles.github.io/jsvecx/?rom=Commercial/Cosmic Chasm_1982 Manual http://www.vectrex.de/_static/2024/Cosmic_Chasm_Manual.pdf Settings Game mode 1 (default)
  8. Third round of the Vectrex HSC is over. Congratulations to Brett (@playvectrex), cheeko, and Madwindoman, the three top scorers of this Scramble round! Great that many players have participated and made their way through the maze! Scramble on the Vectrex is really an excellent and challenging port which is much fun to play, I think.
  9. After quite a number of games I finally made it to the third round. Score was 68,510 using a digital controller crafted by Victor Marland. I've reached more than half of the Scramble top score - personal goal reached. 😁
  10. Thanks for joining in another round, my brother. Currently, you're third last - seems like you'll miss out the red lantern this round. Deadline for this third round of the Vectrex HSC is 30th April. 😁 O.k., just kidding - sure enough you want to know the exact deadline. @TheCurlyBard will announce it, soon. @Doctor Snuggles, @scalpel, @MattPilz: Still at least a full day to join in round 3...
  11. Really good playing, Brett and cheeko. All players do pretty well, btw. Just for fun and out of curiosity I've just looked up top Scramble scores in past Vector Wars: Vector War I: 66,140 hcmffm Vector War II: 78,100 Lady Eclipse Vector War III: 138,720 Chainsaw Vector War VIII: 126,440 Chainsaw Vector War XIII: 145,140 Chainsaw I'm not 100% sure but AFAIK Chainsaw even played with original Vectrex controller. Now that Brett has doubled my score I have to play and reach a higher score. 😉 3 days to go...

    Hera Primera

I haven't played Hera Primera but I tried to run it. Result is that Hera Primara runs on buzz-Vectrex consoles but does not run on non-buzz Vectrex consoles (Serial numbers 31xxxxx and 4xxxxxx). Poly.play is currently ellaborating this and is looking for a solution.

    Hera Primera

Yesterday I've received my copy of Hera Primera. I assume that in the next days many people will receive their copy, too.
  14. Oh, I didn't expect that people do practice runs until they submit their first score. I think it's more fun and challenging to post (almost) any score. But that's just my impression and feel free to practise more. As long as you don't submit a score of 150.000 on 30th April. 😉 Thank you, Brett, for your having tried emulation on a PC out and sharing your experience. I've tried out Scramble with Dr. Snuggles emulation on my smartphone and gave up pretty quickly because of the controls, too. I had the impression that there was some delay when controlling the ship but I might be wrong. I guess my fine motor skills are just not good enough to play games on a 5.8" screen with a virtual controller. 😉
  15. Oops, this happens if you guess names of ROMs and don't double -check. 😕 Thank you for your hint, Dr. Snuggles, I've just corrected the link in the initial post and changed it to the one that you've provided.
