This tweaked Atari computer port is the best version of Zaxxon on 5200. That doesn't make it a great game though. To be honest, I've never played a home port of Zaxxon that was anything as good as the coin-op original.

Comparing this enhancement to the original Atari 5200 game: I'd rate 5200 original Zaxxon 2/5. It looked good and scrolled var more smoothly than the CV version; but it also had cheap collision, it cut out several gameplay features that even the CV version had, and it scrolled too fast!

This 32k version is an improved port of the superior Atari 8bit computer version, with missiles and vertical control in the space sections restored, and the collision is improved here and there. It still scrolls too fast, but you can adjust.

So if you love the "differentness" of the home ports of famous 80's coin-ops and need a home version of Zaxxon, this is the one to get!
