I understand that the Panther was to feature a Motorola 68000 16-bit processor... the same basic chip found in the Genesis. It ran about twice as fast (16Mhz) and was augmented by another 16-bit graphics coprocessor. It was rumored to be 3 or 4 times as powerful as the SNES and Genesis. You know how Atari was... 16 + 16 = 32.
