 Jason Smith has announced that his second Jaguar Extremist Pack is now available for purchase. This second collection contains three rare Jaguar / PC CD-ROMs: Blue Lightning Beta 4/13/95, Teque's F1 Racer 11/23/95, and the Interactive Rocky Horror Show. The first two run on a Jaguar CD with a bypass cart, and the Rocky Horrow Show disc runs on a PC.  If you're tired of all the negative press E.T. for the Atari 2600 has gotten over the years, Duane Alan Hahn has created a new pro-E.T. section under Fi's Atari 2600 Memories. Besides sharing what he likes about the game, Duane has also created a map page, scans of the manual and tips sheet, and an E.T. appreciation page where you can submit your own pro-E.T. comments.  Videogame-Wiz has announced that their Atari 5200 MaxiCart is now available for purchase. The MaxiCart is a special Atari 5200 cartridge that allows gamers and developers to download game files using a USB port into its flash memory via a PC. Once a game has been transferred to the MaxiCart, it can be played on any Atari 5200 console. The cartridge will retain the game until a different one is loaded.  In preparation for attending PhillyClassic 5 in March, we've put together a comprehensive set of pages detailing what you can expect when you stop by the AtariAge booth at the show. We'll have a large number of Atari 2600, 5200, Jaguar, Lynx and ColecoVision systems setup demoing the latest games and games in development, as well as a wide variety of tournaments you can participate in. Many homebrew authors will be on hand to talk about and demo their games, and Howard Scott Warshaw will be at the AtariAge booth autographing copies of his game Saboteur, which will be released at the show in boxed form. You can also pre-order many of the games we'll be offering for sale at the show, in case you are not able to attend personally.  Version 3.0 of the Steem Engine Atari ST emulator has been released. Steem runs the vast majority of Atari ST software and is designed to be easy to use with many unique features. Version 3.0 contains a large number of improvements and bug fixes over the previously released version, and is a must-download if you're an Atari ST fan.  Dennis Debro has released a beta version of his upcoming Atari 2600 homebrew game Climber 5. Your goal in Climber 5 (an enhanced port of a game that first appeared in Compute! magazine) is to ascend to the upper rafters of a building under construction to retrieve a baseball that has been hit up there. Climber 5 will make its debut at PhillyClassic 5 next month, and will feature a label design by Jason Dvorak, who was the winner of the Climber 5 Label Contest.  Zach Matley and AtariAge have chosen the 28 playfields that will be included in the Combat Redux binary and the cartridge to be released at next month's PhillyClassic 5! The three random recipients of a Combat Redux cartridge are Al Kuester, DDCecil, and Walter Lauer, and every individual who had a playfield chosen will receive a $5 gift certificate in the AtariAge Store.  If you live in the Northwest US, you'll want to mark your calendar for the weekend of May 8, 2004. The NorthWest Classic Games Enthusiasts (NWCGE) has announced that this year's show will be held in a larger venue at the Seatac International Airport Holiday Inn. As with previous events, the highlight of this year's expo will be the Annual Northwest Atari Championships, with many prizes awarded for those that can demonstrate their expertise in out-scoring their competitors in a wide variety of classic games. And as always, the show is an excellent opportunity to purchase, trade, play, and discuss games for a wide variety of systems, and appearances by several video game celebrities are expected.  Atari created a great driving controller for the Atari 2600, but only released one game to take advantage of it: Indy 500. While Indy 500 is great fun to play, it has a limited number of tracks. Gustavo del Dago has taken it upon himself to develop a new version of Indy 500 titled Indy 500 XE. This new version features more tracks (the game has been increased in size from 2K to 4K), the tracks are double-resolution, allowing for more detailed and interesting levels, different car graphics for each player, and more game variations.
Additionally, Gustavo has created an easy-to-use Windows-based track editor that allows the easy creation of new tracks, loading and saving of tracks (so you can go back later to refine them), selection of background, playfield, and player colors, and the ability to generate a binary so you can immediately test your creations. AtariAge and Gustavo are sponsoring a contest on AtariAge to allow everyone a chance at creating tracks that might be included in a cartridge version of Indy 500 XE, scheduled to make its debut at PhillyClassic 5 in March.

 Andrew Davie has managed to get his hands on a prototype of the Krokodile Cart for the Atari 2600, and has written a review about it to whet your appetite. The Krokodile Cart (a work-in-progress name) is a new Atari 2600 flash cart designed by Kroko that emulates a 2600 cartridge, including various bankswitching schemes. The cartridge, which connects to a PC via a serial interface, can support games up to 512KB in size and plans are to include 128KB of RAM, which could allow for some fairly elaborate games. Matt has posted thorough reviews of ten different Atari 7800 prototypes, including unreleased games such as GATO, Klax, and Pit Fighter.  Saboteur is an enjoyable multi-level shooter written by Howard Scott Warshaw, the Atari programmer and designer responsible for Yars' Revenge, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and E.T. In Saboteur, you play the role of Hotot, a cybernetic life form who must destroy a secret missile base that evil intruders plan to use as a launching site to destroy the galaxy's power source. Saboteur was never released by Atari, and at some point work was even done to modify the game to fit the A-Team television show.
Saboteur will be released in cartridge form at PhillyClassic 5 with a professionally printed box, manual and label, all in the style of Atari's original silver label releases. Howard Scott Warshaw will be attending PhillyClassic 5, and will be autographing copies of Saboteur purchased at the show!  A new version of the work-in-progress Atari 7800 emulator EMU7800 has been released. Version 0.50 of EMU7800 includes the following changes:- "The Truth in Advertising" release... now, most 7800 titles are playable
- 7800 BIOS startup can be skipped
- Both .a78 and .bin 7800 ROMs are supported
- Added gamestate save/restore
- Added mouse-based lightgun support
- Added GUI options for varying emulation speed, etc.

Version 0.8.6beta of ARAnyM (Atari Running on Any Machine) is now available for downloading. ARAnyM is a virtual machine for running the Atari ST/TT/Falcon operating systems and has been ported to a wide variety of computing platforms.
