Learn More about Rubik's Cube 3DMuch to our amazement, David Winter has discovered and posted information about a 3D prototype of the Atari game Rubik's Cube! This is indeed a real 3D version of the game, as opposed to the 2D version that Atari shipped. This version of the game even includes a solve option, and will also allow you to change the colors of individual tiles. New PAL & NTSC A-Team Binaries
December 22, 2002
Posted by Albert Submit News | Archives

Visit our TV Format Conversions pageAtari 2600 programmers Manuel Polik (Gunfight) and Fabrizio Zavagli (Space Treat) have teamed up to create new NTSC and PAL versions of Atari's unreleased A-Team prototype. The A-Team PAL conversion is new, as the game only existed in NTSC format previously. While creating this new PAL version, they also fixed some problems with the original game:

  • Repaired the glitches in the intro
  • Beautified the odd looking A-Team logo
  • Now provides a stable number of scanlines
  • Switched off the color cycling in stage 1

You can download the PAL version of A-Team from our TV Format Conversions Page, and the improved NTSC version from our Atari 2600 Hacks section.

Quest and 2600 In A Flash
    December 20, 2002
Posted by Albert Submit News | Archives

Chris Larkin has crafted a website to detail the development of his Atari-related projects. His first two projects are a 2600 game titled Quest and his 2600 In A Flash programmable cartridge. Quest is a four player board game played with knights, based on the old Ravensburger board game of the same name. Quest will use a 2600 multitap interface for four simultaneous players (which will be packaged with the game). The 2600 In A Flash cartridge will allow you to download games from your PC into the cartridge for play on a real 2600, similar to a Cuttle Cart. You can read more about these projects and others at Chris Larkin's Development Page.
