First Playable Incoming! Demo

Visit the Incoming! Development Page title=Homebrew author Ben Larson has released a playable demo of his Atari 2600 game Incoming! that is current in development. Incoming! is a Sabotage style game in which two opponents shell each other with cannons over a variety of terrain. This is the first playable demo Ben has released, and it includes computer AI so it can be played in single player mode as well as between two people. Please visit the Incoming! Star Fire Demo Released

Download the Star Fire DemoGunfight author Manuel Polik has released a tech-demo of his upcoming Atari 2600 game Star Fire, a 2600 port of the 1979 arcade game of the same name released by Exidy. With this demo Manuel has completed most of the visual and technical challenges and will now concentrate on finishing up the gameplay, music, and sound effects. Atari800MacX version 1.0.1 Released

Visit the Atari800MacX home pageThe first non-beta version of Atari800MacX, version 1.0.1, has been released. Atari800MacX is a native OS X Cocoa port of the Atari 800 emulator. This new version features many improvements and bug fixes, such as greatly improved sound support, emulation of the Atari P: (printer) and R: (serial) devices, full 5200 controller support, better paddle support, and more! New 5200 Homebrew Xatta

View our Xatta In Development PageBrian Green has announced that he is developing an Atari 5200 port called Xatta of the arcade puzzle game Ataxx from a company called Leland. Your goal is to secure a greater number of tiles (on a 7x7 grid) than your opponent by moving your pieces in a manner not unlike checkers. There's still plenty of work to be done, but it's nice to see a version of Ataxx being developed for the 5200 and we look forward to its eventual release. First Playable Climber 5 Demo

Your goal in Climber 5 is to ascend to the upper rafters of a building under construction to retrieve a baseball that has been hit up there. MAME Atari CoJag Support

Visit the MAME Status PageSupport has finally been added to MAME (the Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) for the Atari CoJag arcade games. The CoJag was an arcade board developed by Atari Games and derived from the Atari Jaguar. It was used for the arcade games Area 51, Maximum Force, and Area 51: Site 4, as well as some unreleased prototypes like Freeze, Fishing Frenzy, and Vicious Circle.     Koffi: Yellow Kopter Finished

    Visit the Koffi: Yellow Kopter HomepageRon Lloyd has announced that he has completed coding on his Atari 5200 game Koffi: Yellow Kopter and is now accepting orders. The first 100 Koffi: Yellow Kopters will be a "Premier First Edition" and will include a unique box, cart and manual. Ron has put together a demo based on the final version of Koffi that allows you to play all four stages up to the end of Level 3.     Visit the New England Classic Gaming HeadquartersThe New England Classic Gaming Headquarters recently held its fall get together, and they've posted photos of the event (some of which are quite amusing) so you can see what they're all about.     Attack of the Killer Memorabilia

The exhibit, which opened today and runs through November 26th at Musterfirma Headquarters, is being put on by the Ancient Technologies Art Research Institute. Celebrating Atari's 30th Anniversary, the exhibit features an extensive Atari museum with hundreds of unique items including one-of-a-kind prototypes, signed items, rare promo displays and much more. Also featured are several videogame tournaments to take place over the next month, special guests, lectures, performances, and more!     M.E.S.S. Version 0.61.1 Released

    Visit the M.E.S.S. HomepageThe Windows version of M.E.S.S. (Multiple Emulator Super System) emulator has been updated to version 0.61.1. Atari-related changes in this version include a fix that prevented the 5200 keypad from working in version 0.61 and renaming the 7800 driver to mark it as NTSC and making a PAL version as a lone of the NTSC version.     Glimpse at Activision Protos

    Visit AtariProtos.comAtariAge and AtariProtos.com have teamed up to give you a glimpse at four presently unreleased Activision prototypes. These prototypes are for the Venetian Blinds Demo, Bloody Human Freeway, Unknown Prototype #1, and Unknown Prototype #2. Most of these prototypes are of games that were in development, while Venitian Blinds is just technical demo showing off the 2600's capabilities. Matt Reichert has played each of these prototypes extensively, taken screenshots, and written up what he's discovered about them. You can find all this and more at his website, AtariProtos.com.     Starcat Developments Jaguar Library

This library includes such features as startup and object handling code, routines to handle animation, text display, number display, compression and more. Knowledge of Motorola 68000 programming is still needed, but this library should be a great boost to anyone looking to delve into Jaguar programming.     Visit the Euchre Development PageErik Eid has announced that his Atari 2600 card game Euchre is now complete and may be purchased in cartridge form at Hozer Video Games. The price is $16 and includes the game and manual, and you may purchase the game in either PAL or NTSC format. In addition, the first 100 NTSC cartridges are a special edition that Erik has signed and numbered.
